“W.B.B.- WENDELLA B. BUTTERFLY”
41 ¼” x 50 ½”
The seed to create was planted.
As opportunities to explore new directions burst forth
and as new inspirations appeared, the hungry caterpillar grew and grew.
Bursting with the fullness of ideas, the chrysalis formed.
Intense energy focused on choosing a voice that speaks with more confidence and courage.
Now “WB Butterfly” has emerged, anxious to explore and experiment
with the “what ifs’ and to express the emotions flowing from the heart.
The creative spirit flutters in the breeze and the
directions for flight are limitless.
This quilt was created for the Milwaukee Art Quilters Challenge:
“Self Portrait of the Artist as an Animal”
It had to be approx. 40" x 50", hang vertically,
framed like a family portrait, have a nameplate
in the bottom frame and have some kind of embellishment.
I may have gone off the deep end creating this piece, but it was so much fun.
As I was working on it, my husband and daughter said I must have
the monarch caterpiller in it as well as it's chrysalis which you will
find as my earring!
