“QUILTIN’ BUG QUARTER”
18” X 24”

Growing up with an entomologist father “Buggsy”, causes one to look at the insect world
more closely and fondly. Insects creep into my work often.

The image of Buster Beetle was created by my husband Tom nine years ago while he was
taking a children’s literature and illustrating class. Buster is making his debut on the
“Quiltin’ Bug Quarter” PAQA postage stamp.

This piece was created for the PAQA Professional Art Quilters Challenge, the postage stamp. It
is currently in a traveling exhibition. Techniques include crazy log cabin piecing, use of specialty
fabrics, yarns and threads, free motion machine embroidery and machine quilting. Completed in
December, 2001.
