What do quilting and photography have in common?
Both are time- honored ways of preserving cherished memories—and they both come together in a very special one of-a-kind volume.

“Photo Album Quilts” shows how to incorporate your most precious pictures, from beloved snapshots of family members to treasured vacation spots, into a unique picture quilt using Wendy’s Picture Image Machine Appliqué.

Anyone, from confident beginners to experienced quilters can master the techniques. Wendy gives detailed steps for creating picture image machine appliqué quilts. The process is a simple one: create a simple line drawing from tracing the original photograph, enlarge it to the full size of the planned quilt, then with freezer paper, glue stick and invisible machine appliqué, the fabric is assembled to complete the design.

In Chapter 4, there are three sample projects included for you to learn the technique. One of the three projects is represented below. The original photo is shown on the left and on the right is the final quilt titled " Take on the World"

Wendy gives the how to directions for her Random Pieced Border which is used in "Pretty Pink Coneflower #2" on the left. On the right, the detail from "Hello Mr. Cardinal-It's Summer" features one of many tips on fabric selction--fabrics that speaks feathers?

Displaying photos in albums, scrapbooks and frames is one way of enjoying your pictures. Preserving those precious moments in time in a machine appliqué quilt is a wonderful alternative that will give you an opportunity to express your artistry using fabric and thread.
