Wendy Butler Berns
QUILT ARTIST
Aka…. Emily and Wendy’s wildflowers
What spontaneous fun I had creating these wild things! I was inspired by a drawing (probably a re-creation of a Van Gough) my daughter Emily did when she was 8 years old. I loved the intricacy of her flower renderings and found it fun to recreate them in fiber. The piece is created quilt created for the Madison Contemporary Fiber Artists-MCFA exhibition, “Wild Things.”
Techniques: raw edge collage, thread embellishing, water soluble stabilizer, stuffed appliqué and machine appliqué and free motion quilting on a home sewing machine
